Michael Clifford

Okay, so this isn't a favorite. I just wanted to acknowledge that today is the 18th birthday of Michael Clifford, one of the members of 5SOS (5 Seconds of Summer). If you don't listen to their music, you really should try it.

Last Christmas

Last Christmas is the first of four new singles off of Ariana Grande's Christmas EP. There will be three more released in the next three weeks.

Last Christmas is a remake of the original, but with her softer tone and amazing vocals this is a great song to throw you into the Christmas season. It's available on iTunes to download as of now. With her now familiar friends to her music, The Rascals, kicking the song off as well as the festive jingle bells, this song is definitely a recommendation.

Midnight Memories Deluxe

Okay, so you might know that Midnight Memories was leaked today- including the deluxe songs. I'm not sure how we do it, but I was excited. Now, we might have already downloaded everything but we still have to but the album for the boys.

Anyways, the album is absolutely amazing. Their new sound really shows through and fits their new styles and personalities, really. Yes, they're still the same 5 boys on the stairs, but they've grown. 4/5 are no longer teenagers. The sound is really evolved and a bit more rock inspired.

Best Song Ever- Everyone's familiar with this one. It's just a fun, light-hearted single to get everyone hyped up for this album. It shows a bit of the new and the old styles of the boys in a fun and danceable way.

Story of My Life- This is a bit more of a serious and slower song. It's pretty uplifting and the vocals in it are amazing.

Diana- I'm sure a lot of us on twitter heard this when it leaked about a month or so ago, but it's an amazing song that really showed the fans a new sound. It's really serious and is a song that has helped so many of the fans with lyrics like 'let me be the one to pick your heart up and save your life/I don't think you even realize/baby you'd be saving mine.

Midnight Memories- This song definitely has a more rock inspired sound which does something amazing for all of the boy's vocals. It's just another of those fun songs like Up All Night which the first album was named after.

You and I- I'm not sure whether or not to call it 'slow' but it's definitely more slow paced than their more pop songs. It's another of those love songs from them that makes all their fans happy and smile at the heartfelt lyrics.

Don't Forget Where You Belong- This is a song about not forgetting where you come from and how that will forever be where you belong. While this song is a bit faster and can't exactly be classified as slow, you can feel all of their emotions singing about home.

Strong- This is kind of a love song in a different way sung about a person that keeps them strong and able to keep going. It's really relatable, especially for the fans- the boys are those people. It's an amazing song and one of the most connectable for a lot of people.

Happily- Happily is just an amazing song. It's kind of rock based but it still has some of their old selves in it. The vocals in it are just beautiful and it'd definitely one of my favorites out of the 18.

Right Now- This song is just a great song just kind of about living in the moment. The solos are really defined. It's also about someone wishing their other half was there to share this moment.

Little Black Dress- This is definitely a newer area for the boys with lyrics like 'I wanna see the way you move for me baby.' The beginning is also very new for them. This song really just shows off their new sides.

Through The Dark- This has a bit more of a folky tone, but it's my favorite off of the album. It's just a sweet song the 3/5 with girlfriends wrote on tour about missing them. It really sounds like it was written on tour and from their hearts. With lyrics like 'when the night is coming down/we will find a way through the dark' which is really just great I believe.

Something Great- I feel like this is a happier song about a great thing. When the boys sing together in this song it sounds amazing and it really is something great. It's a great song to pick you up when everything is not so great.

Little White Lies- This contributes to their newer sound. It's somewhat about losing faith/trust in a relationship because of dishonesty in the basic. The chorus is really strong in the vocals and it's just a great song.

Better Than Words- Better Than Words is about something so great that words really can't describe it. It feels like it comes from the heart and I love listening to it.

Why Don't We Go There- The start and the whole song is really their new sound. The lyrics are a bit different for them and really just out there. The chorus has some great vocals and the song is just great.

Does He Know?- This is more about a guy and a girl together and how he knows everything about her it seems and from their stand point they feel like he only knows what he sees and it's not real. It's another one of those songs from them that it's like watching these two people together and it's not right.

Alive- Alive is really just about feeling alive and living in the moment not caring about anyone else. I really take this to heart and appreciate this song because it's about someone being judged who's just trying to live his life and make things work almost. The chorus in this is also strong.

Half A Heart- This is about missing someone so much you're only half the person you were and you have half a heart. You can feel the emotion in this because all the boys have felt this at one point or another.

The total album is just amazing. If you want to wait a week until it's officially out, go ahead. But I couldn't wait. If you're having trouble finding a good place to listen to the songs, this website works for me: http://www.aimini.net/search/?q=Midnight%20memories&crpl=0-mvetsc-u&tot=x&nxt=10

Awkward.

This is one of my favorite TV shows. It has such a relatable plot line that happen to so many girls- minus the romance. While the story line is a bit overdone, the actors and actresses manage to continue producing amazing and hilarious episodes. The characters keep the plot going and are so unique yet cliche at the same time. This is definitely a show I recommend.

Teenagers

Teenagers by My Chemical Romance is just an all around amazing song. It gets pretty crazy at some parts, but I love it. Not only does this song have a catchy tune, but it addresses real life problems

This song is definitely worth a try. It's just a really cool sound as well as all the other songs by this group.

Chocolate

Before you ask- no, this is not a food review. This is one of my song obsessions: Chocolate by The 1975. Their sound is so diverse and I've really been loving their album.

This song is definitely not for everyone due to its very different sound, but it's worth giving a shot. Their whole album has had even some of the biggest celebrities raving. It's a huge recommendation from me.

Somewhere In Neverland

Somewhere In Neverland by All Time Low is such a great song. It's definitely not for everyone, but I love it. It's just one of those songs that's kind of romantic wen you look into it but isn't a cliche, run of the mill love song.

I suggest at least giving this song a try because you really never know. If you do enjoy the song the band is really great as well.

Banga Banga

I personally don't like Banga Banga by Austin Mahone. I am a fan of his music but in this song he sounds like a way too auto-tuned  version of a 2012 Justin Bieber. It's not really terrible, but it's nothing to remember or spend money on.

I feel like this song was a big disappointment and he's growing a bit too fast. He hasn't even released an album yet but his sound has changed drastically compared to his first singles- which is completely fine but it comes as a real shock to a lot of fans.

Change Your Life

Change Your Life by Little Mic is a great song. It has real meaning and the starting verse is just amazing. The song is a reality for so many girls and it sends out such a great message.

I cannot stop listening to it and the vocals are perfection. I think this song could be great for a lot of people and the band is great as well.

Almost Is Never Enough

Almost Is Never Enough by Ariana Grande is an amazing song. It's a bit of a slower song, but the vocals are just amazing. This song is a duet with her and Nathan Sykes of The Wanted.

I feel like this slow song shows off her range and makes the quality and vocals even better- especially the part where the two sing together. That part is even more amazing now that they're officially together. The whole album is really a must have though. The album is called Yours Truly and I've listened to it every day since it's September release.

Eighteen

Eighteen is a song by 5 Seconds of Summer, an Australian band. I first heard about them because they were going on tour with One Direction. Despite that, their sound is a bit more punk rock than the boys. This particular song Eighteen is a personal favorite of mine.

I really enjoy this song because I feel it says something real and it's not a complete fairytale. While there is no studio version of this song, there are live performances of it out there on YouTube. I recommend this song because even live, their vocals are amazing and the song is just really catchy and has something a bit different in it.
Story of My Life

You're probably not aware, but I'm a HUGE directioner. That said, this might be a little biased. On October 28, they released a new single to buy on iTunes called Story of My Life, shortly followed by an incredible music video. Even though their sound has not been for everyone in their past 2 albums (Up All Night and Take Me Home) I've found that a lot more people have latched on to their new sound- including my own friends and family. This song is not only a new path for them, but it is incredibly relatable and their vocals are amazing. I also very much enjoyed the fact that all 5 of the boys had their own solo in this song. So, if you want to hear it go out and buy it- I promise you won't regret it.

If you like this song, watch out for their album coming on November 25 called Midnight Memories and their 3 new singles even before that coming out November 18, 20, and 22. They will be performing Story of My Life live on X Factor US on November 21 and have a 7 hour livestream they're calling 1D Day on November 23.
